Ananse Kounda Mission Statement

Ananse Kounda’s mission is to provide a structured means of support and reinforcement for families in their commitment to the growth and development of our youth within the context of family and institutional development, and cultural reclamation.  Our focus is to provide cultural education and immersion, practical skills training, and character-development support that will ensure that our children grow to become powerful, contributing members of the diasporic Afrikan community.  By inspiring, motivating, and nurturing the innate gifts of each individual child, we will encourage them to become fully committed to the formation, advancement, and perpetuation of institutions by and primarily for Afrikans the world over. It is our prime objective to provide a multi layered liberated space from which our future world leaders and innovators can manifest their greatest potentials. Consistent with the principles of our indigenous models and pursuant to securing contemporary tools for development and prosperity, we commit ourselves to providing an impenetrable foundation of family and community support, culture, and a knowledge and understanding of an ever-changing global environment.
